What is a domain and why do I need one?

A domain is your business's address on the internet — for example yourcompany.com. It's exactly the same as a street address or a phone number: it's how customers find you.

Why does it matter?

  • A domain with your company's name builds trust and looks professional (yourcompany.com instead of a random free-service address)
  • You own the domain — even if you switch website providers later, the domain stays yours
  • An email address like contact@yourcompany.com also runs on your domain

How much does it cost?

A domain is purchased for a year and renewed annually — a small, recurring cost that depends on the registrar and the ending (e.g. .com, .pl). The domain is bought in your name, at the registrar's price — we don't add a margin. That's why the renewal invoice comes to you from the registrar, not from us.

Who registers it

That depends on your package. In the Professional and Expert packages, or with the "Domain and hosting setup" add-on, we register the domain for you, in your name, and connect it to the site. In the Business Card package you do it yourself, and we walk you through it in Domain and hosting, step by step. Already have a domain? Then there's nothing to buy — just give us access to it.

You'll find a comparison of the packages in Packages — what each one includes.
