How do I add a blog post

This guide only applies if your site has a blog — not every site we build uses one. If you're not sure, check the menu on the left of the panel: if you can see "Blog Post" (Wpis na blogu) there, this guide is for you.

A blog is a good place to show off what you know professionally — a lawyer can explain what to watch out for in a lease agreement, a dentist the difference between a crown and a veneer. It builds trust before anyone even calls, and it helps your site show up in search results along the way.

Title and post address

"Title" (Tytuł) is required — it's the post's headline on the list and on its own page.

Right below it is the equally required "URL (slug)" field (Adres URL (slug)), the end part of the post's address, e.g. koronka-czy-licowka in yourbusiness.pl/blog/koronka-czy-licowka. The panel doesn't fill it in by itself: after typing the title, click the "Generate" button (Generuj) next to the field. The slug doesn't update when you later tweak the title, and changing it after publishing means the old address stops working — links shared on social media and results in Google then lead to an error page. Set it once, when you create the post. We cover this in more detail under services.

Publication date and posts written ahead of time

"Publication date" (Data publikacji) is the third required field. It shows above the post's title and decides the order on the list — newest at the top.

The date has a second job too: it lets you prepare a post in advance. You can write a post dated in the future and click Publish (Publikuj) straight away, and it still won't be visible on the site — not on the post list, not at its own address, and not in the sitemap for Google. It appears automatically on the morning of the date you entered, at about 6:00 Polish time. Occasionally it may be a few minutes later, but you don't need to click anything on the day.

There's one condition: the post has to be published. A draft with a future date will never appear, because the site only ever shows published content. If you want to change something in a scheduled post, edit it and click Publish again before the day comes.

Excerpt

"Excerpt" (Zajawka) is the short summary shown on the post list before someone clicks through to the full article — a sentence or two that makes people want to read on, not the first paragraph copied from the content. The site also uses it as the post's description in Google if the SEO tab is empty.

Main photo

"Main photo" (Zdjęcie główne) appears on the post's card on the list (in a landscape frame) and as a wide banner above the article itself. Set a hotspot on it and fill in the "Alt text" (Tekst alternatywny) — we explain the rules in how to upload and crop photos. If a post has no photo, its card on the list simply starts with the date.

Content

You write the "Content" (Treść) itself in the text editor with the full set of tools (how to use the text editor). You can also insert photos anywhere in the text, each with its own alt text and a caption (Podpis pod zdjęciem). That comes in handy for "before and after" photos, say, or for showing a process step by step. These photos are shown whole, not cropped to a frame.

If the Content is left empty, the post page shows just the excerpt.

SEO

Blog posts have their own SEO tab, just like services — described in how to fill in the SEO tab. Hiding a post from search engines also removes it from the sitemap, but the post stays visible on the blog list.

If your site also has a news section, see how to add a news item — usually a quicker, simpler format than a full blog post.
